I have over 20 years experience working in medical education. I worked for the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine from 2013-2018 as a standardized patient trainer and medical educator and many years ago as a simulated patient at ECFMG in Philadelphia before to moving to NYC in 2000.

 

Whether you are a medical student, a Foreign Medical Graduate or an International Medical Graduate, I can help you prepare for your licensing examination and/or residency interviews. I will provide you with  direct feedback and practice regarding the interpersonal skills portion of the USMLE Step 2CS Exam or the Humanistic Domain of the COMLEX-USA Level 2-PE respectively. I can also give you feedback on how you are presenting yourself as part of  your preparation for your residency interviews.

When preparing for the board exam we will use real practice cases and you will receive immediate feedback on the skills you'll be evaluated on. These include body language, tone of voice, pacing, empathy, counseling, patient education, active listening and eliciting information skills. Many students and Emigre Physicians could greatly improve their chances of passing with support in these areas.

If you are a non-native English speaker, I can help you ensure that what you are communicating is what you intend. If needed, I can support you to minimize your accent by teaching you pronunciation tips and suggest words and phrases that a native speaker would use in conversation. I work with cultural differences in a kind and respectful way to ensure that your communication accomplishes what you need and reflects your best self.
